What is W-Life?
The W-Life project is an Erasmus+ KA210-VET Small-Scale Partnership in the field of vocational education and training (project number 2024-2-FI01-KA210-VET-000293288). The project began in January 2025 and will end on June 30, 2026. Its goal is to develop sustainable practices that support inclusion and tailor-made jobs, helping to overcome the labor shortage in the green sector. The project is led by Kaisa Koskelin from AhlmanEdu.
Project Goals and Methodology
The project focuses on the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), which has proven to be an effective tool for dialogue between educational institutions and the world of work. Special attention is given to EQF levels 1 and 2, where tasks are often difficult to define, guide, and support.
The W-Life project aims to:
Articulate and identify ways to describe job tasks that meet employers’ needs and consider employees’ individual skills.
Create a comprehensive “recipe book” of practical tools for job coaching, skills mapping, and job customization at all skill levels. This “recipe book” may include, for example, digital, illustrated, narrated, or audible work instructions to support learning and employment.
Promoting Inclusion and Responsibility
The project’s main goal is to promote inclusion and ensure that all graduates have access to employment. This is achieved by removing barriers such as social, cultural, or physical challenges. Specific models for applying individual skills in the workplace are also provided.
Unlocking the Potential of the Green Sector
The project aims to make the green sector more attractive, especially for young people. The sector offers significant job opportunities and solutions to climate change challenges, but its reputation needs to be improved. The project highlights the sector’s potential through tailor-made jobs that can meet the needs of both employers and employees.
International Cooperation
The project is carried out in cooperation with AhlmanEdu vocational schools in Finland, Bulduri vocational schools in Latvia, and Yebisu Eesti EQF trainers in Estonia. The lessons and results of the project are expected to contribute to responsible business, inclusion, and sustainable workforce development. It will support vocational education institutions, employers, students, and future team leaders in creating jobs that are customized and support individual competencies. The result will be a more sustainable and attractive green sector that creates a shared future amidst climate challenges.
