Muumioru garden – from within
We invite you to Muumioru Alpacafarm in Harjumaa to learn in the garden how acclaimed Belgian landscape architect and builder André Goemaere interprets space, makes decisions, and builds his process.
Learning alternates with discussions and walking in the garden.
The garden itself is the learning material.
29–30 April 2026
What you won’t get elsewhere and what our workshop offers?
Google gives you ideas but doesn’t help you choose.
Pinterest shows pictures but doesn’t show how decisions are made.
AI offers solutions but takes no responsibility for space or consequences.
Many courses teach methods, but rarely do you see a real process in a real place.
This is exactly the gap our workshop fills, centred on André’s way of thinking and craftsmanship:
- how he reads a garden space
- how he makes decisions when not everything is clear yet
- how he maintains the whole even when the budget is limited
All of this takes place in the Muumioru garden, in whose design and creation André himself has been involved.
For André, a garden is neither a picture nor a style. A garden is a space where life is lived. A space that must work both when viewed from within and when experienced from inside. A space that must carry a person through the seasons, light, movement, and time.
Day 1. From inspiration to clarity
The first day helps you look at your garden or any garden space with fresh eyes:
- understand what kind of garden suits your life and possibilities
- learn to notice what already works and what needs attention
- see how decisions create a whole
Day 2. From clarity to action
The second day is even more practical and deeper. Together with André, you’ll work on a specific garden space:
- learn to read a space before offering solutions
- distinguish what is a problem and what is a real opportunity
- discuss what the logical next step for this place could be
- try simple decision-making logic without going into details
- finally see how a professional approaches the same situation
André Goemaere
André Goemaere is a Belgian landscape architect and builder whose work has received numerous national and international awards. He is the founder of Viridis and has been active in landscape architecture and construction for over twenty years.
André’s strength does not lie in awards. His strength lies in thinking.
He doesn’t start with details, trends, or beautiful ideas. He starts with questions.
His signature is clear and simple. He believes that simplicity is born from the courage to make decisions, that emptiness can be just as important as a planting area, that trees are the backbone of a garden, that a budget is not a limitation but a tool. And that the most expensive thing in a garden is indecision.
André has worked in addition to Belgium also in Germany, Greece, Albania, North Macedonia, and Estonia. His project in Muumioru is not just a garden. It is a place where his way of thinking is expressed in space.
